Ballarat

So I went to Ballarat during the what? 3 days off that I had after my exams. It was actually suggested by my friend to get away for a night, get away from the city, away from Melbourne. So it was not so much sightseeing and whatever tourists do. It was purely to relax and bum in the hotel room.


It was colder than Melbourne, 5degrees. Manh I remember how stressed I was to end up here. The finals really made me stressed out, I felt I did so bad during the exams and if I failed 2 subjects I couldn't qualify for the Summer Term. So to be just walking around the town was a breath of fresh air for me, calm :).


Stayed at Heritage on Lydiard Street, got the $190 room? got bunked up to the executive suite when we got there wohoo. Fancy.

To be honest, the trip I was only looking forward to watching the tv and complementary movies that came together with it. I was stuck watching Nickalodeon and Discovery Travel and Living. haha. Not to mention room service. It was a good runaway from the real world.

Malacca Chicken Rice Ball & Cendol

Welcome to jonker street.


The infamous chicken rice ball shop at the corner of jonker. Lucky the time we went there wasn't a que, i was wondering if the shop had actually lost popularity or something, but after we sat people started pouring in and lining up outside.


balls!. it's quite nice actually to be eating it in balls, can compare how many balls you've eaten.


chicken was mediocre. Portion for 5 people.


walked to another shop to try their cendol. One of the things i had to try before leaving. This post is so old that i have forgotten the names. I got the normal cendol and gessie got the durian one.


The gula melaka wasn't how i thought it would be. The texture and taste. I thought it would be more runny, but instead it was sticky and not very liquidy, but very thick with the roasted aroma. Totally not what i expected.


Every building then we seem to enter has this empty space in the middle. I love the architecture! and the piece of land is so long!.

KILLER ANIMALS

Don't know if im jinxed or what but the animals at A Famosa were like on to me or something, true story!. These are the few animals, caught on picture ...

I was standing minding my business and its head came out and hit me.

you look at its face, its eyes. i was supposed to die that day.

... i don't know what i did to these animals to deserve this. Look like it wanted to hunt me down. revenge.

On the way back, even saw two horses fighting.


Gessie on the other hand experienced the total opposite. She felt one with the animals there.

i liked the horse too. i guess the animals aren't too bad.
